Motion Graphics Project

Project Information

For this project, the client asked for a snappy tongue-in-cheek commercial to advertise these press-on putting guides.

The client only provided a few low resolution images of the Putter Sight units, a flat layout of the package and a basic script outline.

I recreated the units as 3D models, using the photos as references, and animated them. I also rewrote elements of the script and recorded a placeholder voice over to guide the project.

Other Assets

I then modeled and textured the golf ball, the putter and the various golf course scenes. Supplied materials and lighting and animated all the sequences.

I used Cinema 4D for the base models and animations.

Motion Design

I took the animated segments into Motion 5 and added color correction, animated arrows and other graphical elements.

Final Editing

I assembled and edited all the clips using Final Cut Pro X and overlaid additional 3D text.

I also edited the music and sound effects and adjusted the overall look and feel of the commercial.

We hadn't yet recorded a final voice-over for the commercial, but the client was impressed with my overall work and decided to use the original recording in the final version.
