The Game
Big Bang Billiards brings a third dimension to the traditional game of pool. The player floats in outer space without the confines of gravity and can shoot their balls in any direction within a 3-Dimensional Table.
Our 5 person team at Octopus Interactive VR, created the casual game which players can find on Steam available for the Vive and other high end VR headsets.

MY PROCESS
-
Create high poly models using Gravity Sketch VR and other modeling tools
-
Clean up topology, Unwrap U/Vs, Create Low Poly Versions using Cinema 4D.
-
Create Painted Textures using Substance Painter and Substance Designer.
-
Create PBR Materials in Unity and incorporate the prefab assets into the game.
-
Create in-game animations for the assets, like grabbing hands, rotating planets, and alien attacks.
SAMPLE MODELS
AVATARS
I designed animal masks to use as player avatars. They feature hand-painted metallic PBR materials on the front, and cardboard / computer chip materials on the back. I had to create double sided masks in order to see both sides within the game.
Here you see a parrot, spotted owl, fox, leopard, elephant and octopus models.
FRUITS
Using the same techniques as above, I created these fruit models and textures for use as an alternative to traditional billiard balls. In-game, these fruits are contained within numbered pool ball shells, but here you can see the full sized fruit models and textures.
SPORTS BALLS
Similar to the fruit set, the sports balls were designed as an alternative to traditional pool balls in the game.
Here you can see the detailed texture work that went into making these realistic looking balls from various sporting activities.
OTHER 3D ASSETS
FIRE HYDRANT
I modeled this weathered fire hydrant with C4D and textured it with Substance Painter.
RUSTY WATER PUMP
I modeled this water pump with C4D and textured it with Substance Painter.
ANCHORMAN LOCK
I created this functional model of an Anchorman Door Lock Quick Release Device using Cinema 4D and Substance Painter.
