70's Living Room
3D Modeling and Materials
Project Information
I wanted to challenge myself to recreate a living room based solely on a photo. This project had many hurdles to overcome. I had to create high and low poly models, unwrap UV's for texturing and then set up cameras, lighting and rendering properties to get the right look.
I then created a VR version in Unity.

SOURCE
MATERIAL
I found this image of a living room with 70's decor online and decided to recreate the image from scratch. Originally, I wanted to create the room using only Gravity Sketch VR.
GRAVITY
SKETCH
I created most of the models using Gravity Sketch VR and arranged them into a room. These models are somewhat high-poly and don't have extremely detailed materials.
CINEMA 4D
I took the high poly models into Cinema 4D and added textures using Substance Painter and Designer. I set up lighting and cameras. I rendered the image out using Global Illumination and Ambient Occlusion passes. And then added elements and color corrected in Photoshop.
I then re-created low-poly versions of the models for use in Unity VR.
UNITY VR
After recreating the models as low-poly versions using Cinema 4D and Unity Pro-Builder, I arranged the room in Unity and set up VR capabilities for the VIVE.
